Short answer
Cable duct is a non-perforated steel trough closed with a cover, so cables are fully protected from dust, splashes, sunlight and mechanical damage. Choose cable duct for dusty production areas, exposed routes, or data and control cables that must be physically separated from power cables.

Questions about cable duct
What is the difference between cable duct and cable tray?
Cable tray is perforated and usually open, while cable duct is fully enclosed with no holes. Duct protects cables better but lets them shed less heat, so the cable current rating must be derated according to the installation standard.
Can cable duct be installed outdoors?
Yes, with a hot-dip galvanized or outdoor-grade powder-coated finish. Add small drain holes at the lowest points if water could be trapped.
