Hot-dip galvanized cable ladder: type U, type W and heavy-duty

Short answer

A cable ladder is a ladder-shaped cable support: two steel side rails joined by rungs every 300 mm. The open structure lets air circulate around the cables, and large-diameter cables are easy to tie down to the rungs. Choose cable ladder for medium- and low-voltage power cables, main (backbone) routes and support spans of 2 to 3 m.

Questions about cable ladder

When should I choose cable ladder over cable tray?

Choose cable ladder for large-diameter power cables, main routes and support spans of 2 to 3 m. Choose perforated cable tray for small cables, control and instrument cables that need a continuous base so they do not sag between rungs.

What load can a cable ladder carry?

The product is designed to NEMA VE 1. An independent laboratory load test on a type W ladder 1,000 mm wide, 100 mm high and 2.0 mm thick over a 2.5 m span recorded 360 kg exactly at the allowable deflection of 10 mm (1/250 of the span, NEMA VE 1 class 10A), and the sample carried up to 550 kg per span. Actual capacity depends on width, rail height, sheet thickness and support spacing, so send us your span data and we will calculate it.

Can cable ladder be installed vertically?

Yes. Use inside or outside risers for the change of direction, then clamp the cables to the rungs every 300 to 600 mm so the cable weight does not hang on the terminations.

How long is one cable ladder section?

The standard length is 3,000 mm. Other lengths can be made to order for project requirements.
